Knitting Cards

Oh, my.  I can't believe it's been almost a year since I last posted!  That's bad... and I'm so sorry.  I'll try to do better, but I can't make promises, because who knows where life takes us, eh?

Well, a few weeks ago, my aunt asked me if I could possible get ahold of a knitting or crocheting stamp set.  She owns a wool shop and had seen a knitting themed card and thought that was something that would sell.  After a long search, I finally came across a stamp set from GinaKDesigns that I thought was perfect.  Hope you like them!

For both these cards, I used black and slate ink from CTMH as well as their Bitty Sparkles.  The paper is a set from Authentique.

Guy Cards

I haven't made guy cards lately so last night I quickly whipped these up.  The paper I got at a scrapbook swap I had last week.

You can hardly see them, but there are Square Studs on the second and third cards.
The stamps I used are both retired sets from CTMH.

Now my sister doesn't have to be disappointed in my guy card supply for a while:)

Happy Spring, Everyone!

Clothes Hook

What do you call this anyways?  I have a really quick project to share with you.  I'm re-doing my daughter's room and had 2 teddy bear hooks to hang her clothes on.  I needed something new so I shopped my house and found a little sign in my bathroom that I no longer wanted.  I gave it a coat of new paint, then glued a piece of paper to the front of it.  Then I shopped my junk-drawer and found three hooks.  I screwed them on and covered the ugly faces of the screws with pink glitter from CTMH.  Voila!

So cute and easy and now her room is another step closer to being done!

Valentine's Tree

It's nearly Valentine's Day and I almost forgot to post this.  We don't usually celebrate Valentine's Day at our house, but last year we had a candlelit dinner which the kids loved, so this year we will again.  However, I decided this family could use a little extra lovin' and appreciation for each other, so I found this cute idea:

As I was perusing blogland the other week, I came upon this cute Valentine's Tree.  I cut out 2 tags for every person in our family (that's 7 people!) using white cardstock.  Then I added paper hearts in everyone's colour.

On the backs I wrote "I love ________ because..."  and we all have to write something on everyone's tag.

I love this idea because it's making us all think about the little things that we appreciate about each other.  It's filling us with warm fuzzy feelings which will hopefully last all year:)

The Kids' Chess Table

My son loves playing chess and will beg anyone for a game.  As we are currently building a new playroom for the kids, I felt they should have a nice table to play chess on.

This is not really a paper project, but I did use paper on it!  I found an old table my husband made when he was in school.  It was not being used, so I painted it.  Then I cut squares of paper and Mod Podged them to the top.  A coat of sealer was the finishing layer.

How could anyone not love to play, now?

More Wooden Letters

Hello people.  Having a good day, I hope?

I recently made these wooden letters for a cousin's baby and thought I would show you.

I'm quite pleased with how they turned out:

Oh dear, the picture looks a little blurry here.  It's hard to see the details, but the N has a stamped image of an airplane and some buttons and twine; the C has his birthdate stamped on a banner; the O has a kite flying off it; the L has "look out world" stamped on it;  the A has a button; and the S has some more twine to finish it off!  Stamps and ink are from CTMH of course:)

New Idea Book Artwork

Hi Friends!  I though I would share some new artwork with you today.  It's going to be a shower gift for a shower I'm going to tomorrow, so it should be safe to share it today:)

I'm so happy with the way it turned out, I just want to make some more!  I got the idea from the new CTMH catalogue and adapted it to fit an 8x10 frame.  I spray painted the frame white and gently sanded some of the edges.   The stamps, ink and embellishments are from Close to my Heart.
I sure hope the new mommy likes it:)

Thanks for looking, hope you have a great day!

Baby card set

Hello Everyone!  It's been a long time (again).

I picked up a box of the cutest chipboard pieces at Winners yesterday and I couldn't wait to make some cards with them.  Inspiration for the card designs comes from a variety of places, but I especially love Teresa Kline's cards.  She does beautiful work:)

The paper I used is from 3 different paper packs, including Baby Cakes from CTMH.

Thanks for looking:)

New Idea Book- New Artwork!

Hello, there.  I've got a couple of cards to share with you today!  I know it's been so long, you probably don't remember I even have a blog.  Now that summer's over, maybe I can get going on here again.

Since it's September, we have a new catalogue out that's filled with tons of great new artwork and lots of exciting new products!

Here are two cards made with the Laughing Lola paper pack:

These cards are made using Mojo Monday's Sketch#312:

I also used:
Cardstock: black, white
Stamps: Frame Flair, Card Chatter-Birthday, and an old birthday set.
Ink: Gypsy, Black
Embellishments: Bitty Sparkles, Zipper Lace, flowers, feather, and lace from my stash.

Finally! I can post again!

Hello, Everyone!  It's so good to be back!

I have been having so much trouble trying to post on this blog.  Every time I would sign in, it just gave me a blank screen when I went to type a new post.

Tonight I had a brainwave (it didn't hurt a bit) to try a different way and went through Google Chrome instead of Internet Explorer, and what do you know, it works!!!

So, I can finally post again!  I have so much catching up to do I don't even know where to start:)

I think I'll start with the most recent cards I've made:

My son loves green and he loves soccer, so I combined his love into cards for his teacher and his soccer coach.  The soccer ball is from the Game On set from CTMH.  I don't even know where the paper and twine came from- it wasn't mine:)

Thanks for looking and I'm so happy to be back.

By the way, I just wanted to let you know that Close to my Heart is retiring all the E-size stamps sets in the catalogue.  They'll not be available after July anymore.

Tuesday, 2 April 2013

So, once again, it's been awhile since I've posted.  I'm sorry.  And, on top of that I seem to like sharing with you paper that's been retired!

I don't know what's going on with me!  Oh-yeah- I do...I like to hoard my new paper until it's retired and then I haul it out and use it!  Not good for sales, but there you have it.

I have two cards to share with you today.  They both use the Cruisin' Paper Pack (which is retired, of course).

These also use burlap string and jute from I don't know where and Round Durable Studs and buttons from CTMH.

I also have a couple more which I may have already shared with you, but here you go:

Same retired paper pack again, twine, stamps and cardboard pieces from CTMH, random jute and button.

Thanks for looking:)

Check this out!

I've been waiting to post this for a long time.

First, let me start off by saying I have an amazing husband.

An amazing husband who has a thing for Volkswagons.  Especially the Bus.  And not just any bus- it has to be a 21-window with a split front window and a roof rack.  Such as this:

He also has  a thing for building and woodworking.

This is what he made for our kids' room:

We wanted a set of bunkbeds for this room, but not just any bunkbeds.  These are built into the whole length of the wall.

John drew up the plans and set to work.  He bent the pipes for the roof-rack by hand and cut the sides out of sheets of MDF.  The little windows on top are actually mirrors we had laying around.

The center hub is a lid from his favourite pasta sauce.  The wheels are cut from MDF as well.

I found the steering wheel at Value Village.  Now the kids can drive their bus to anywhere!  I think it's even been to the moon.  I know it's been camping.

After searching high and low for VW drawer-pulls, we settled on these from Home Depot.  I thought they went well with the curves of the bus:)

Sorry for the lighting of the pictures, I'm still a novice at taking them.

Enjoy!  And thanks for looking.

Mojo Monday 282

Once again, it's been too long since I was here last...but today I'd like to share with you two cards for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.

I've made one for Mother's Day using For Always paper from CTMH.  The rose is from Prima and the ribbon is a random scrap from my stash.  The red sparkle is also CTMH.

For my second card I went with the round version using buttercup yellow cardstock, For Always and Surf's Up paper, the Wonderful Friend Stamp Set and a crochet flower(retired) from CTMH.

Here's the Sketch I followed:

Cute Baby

I just wanted to pop in here with a quick "hello" and a couple of cute, super-easy cards.

So "Hello"  and here you go:)

These cards (I made 8 of them)  took about an hour all together.  The main panels were cut out of one sheet of paper.  The paper is called Baby Steps from Simple Stories.  Isn't it cute?  Lace, burlap string and flower are random stuff I had on hand and the Bitty Sparkles are from CTMH.  No stamping involved!

Have a good weekend!

Love-ly cards...

Hello Friends!  It seems like a long time since I've been here again.

I'd like to say "thank-you" to everyone who came out last night for my catalogue launch.  You all make it worth my time-and more:)

I have a couple of cards that were made a couple of days ago:

I made this one using some gorgeous paper from My Minds Eye.  It's called Oliver- I think it's my new favourite paper ever (smile).  The sentiment is from Fiskars.  I looked everywhere for a "love" stamp that I liked and finally found this one.

This one is made by the lovely Carmen (my partner in crime aka cardmaking).  This card uses the bright and cheery Mother's Love from My Minds Eye- another recent find.  The crochet flower, twine, heart shape and LOVE are all from CTMH.
Pretty, eh?

Thanks for looking-cheerio!

New Stuff!!!

I would like to share with you 2 cards that I made with some of the goodies I got in the mail yesterday.

I couldn't wait to break into the box when it came, but we had appointments to go to first:)

Finally after supper I got my first look at my new stuff- and I was so pleased!

Pink and Teal and Grey and Navy Blue; girl stuff and boy stuff; glitter and sparkles- I can't wait to use it all.

This first card is my take on the Mojo Monday 276 Sketch Challenge.  I just made it a 4x4 card instead of regular size.

This one is another sketch that I found-but I can't remember where I found it:)

I used the brand-new Chantilly Paper Pack from CTMH, Chantilly Complements-Chipboard Pieces, Shimmer Trim, Bitty Sparkles, Cricut Art Philosophy, Sorbet Baker's Twine, and Outdoor Denim ink.

Thanks for looking and have a great day:)

Zoe Layout-Second Try:)

I just finished this layout and I couldn't be more pleased with it!  I love how it turned out.

I am excited to be entering this into a contest over at page maps.  There is a sketch that we can basically do whatever we want with.  I'm not super creative so I pretty much stuck to what was shown.

I picked up this gorgeous paper at Winners the other day.  It's called "Follow Your Heart" from My Mind's Eye.  I've been having all kinds of luck there when it comes to paper lately!  The layered flowers and 'beautiful life' sticker are from a paper set called "Serenade" from Basic Gray.  I thought they matched very nicely.  The pink lace, buttons, and Opaque Pearls are from CTMH.  The burlap string is also from Winners.  I think it's American Craft.

I think this is going to be one of my favourite layouts ever!

Thanks for looking-now that you could- and have a great day!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Everyone!  I can't believe another year has passed already. I wish you all many blessings in 2013!

I'd like to thank all who have  helped make 2012 a great business year.  I appreciate your patronage.

Just to let you know, the new Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Books are out and I should have my copies pretty soon...  I can't wait to see the new product in person.  There's a lot of beautiful new paper and accessories just waiting to be played with.

Warm Winter Wishes

Hello all!  A very warm Christmas Wish is headed your way!  This is my last post of the year, so I thought I would show you a wintry card.  I got my inspiration from this wonderful card.  Paperie Blooms is my favourite place to go for inspiration lately.  You should check her out!

The paper I used for this card I have had for a couple of years now, so I can't even tell you what it's called.  The glittery snowflake I just picked up at the Dollar Store; the burlap string is from Winner's.  The button is out of my button box and the sentiment is from the November Stamp of the Month from CTMH.

There we go- have a wonderful Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year:)
