Family Picture

Good Morning!

As I'm sitting here having chocolate cake and coffee for breakfast, I want to share with you our newest family picture.  My darling sister-in-law took this picture for us at beautiful Bridal Falls on Labour Day this year.  Didn't she do a good job?  We love it.

I've been decorating our family pictures like this for a couple of years now, and I have to say that I never thought I would have paper-crafted decor in my house, but I love how they've turned out!

Here's a close-up of the embellishment:

It took me 2 hours to decide what paper to use for this project.  Then I was finished in less than one hour:)  I used CTMH barnboard paper for the background (2 sheets).  It's from the Dakota Paper Pack.  The blue and green paper is called  Welcome Home from BoBunny.  The adorable banner is from a paper line called Serenade by Basic Grey.  The cardstock is just some random textured that I had layin' around.  I like to distress all my edges using the Edge Distresser from CTMH.  It just adds to it:)

The embellishment cluster constists of: Opaques Flourishes and pin clips from CTMH and a burlap flower from Prima Marketing.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

MojoMonday 266

Hello, there!  It's another beautiful day here in BC.  It's also challenge week over at MojoMonday.

This week's sketch is a very nice one:

And here is my take on it:
I used the Superhero paper from CTMH as well as a button and black hemp.  The "happy birthday" is from a retired set- one that I quite often reach for when making cards.  I cut the star using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, also from CTMH.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Bulletin Board

Beautiful day out there today:)

I wanted to show you what I made for my little sister's birthday:

She turned 15 last month and I wanted to make something special for her.  I went to probably all the second-hand stores in Chilliwack trying to find the perfect frame.  Three days before her birthday I finally found this one and my husband painted it white for me.  It took a few coats of paint because nothing wanted to stick to it:)  Then, instead of cork, I used a piece of cardboard and covered it with burlap.  Added a canvas butterfly and called it done!  So easy and so pretty- I think:)

Have a good one!

Kid's cards

Hello, again!  It's been a coupla weeks again, so I thought I would share with you come cards made by my good friend, Carmen.

I was asked, recently, if I would like to sell my cards at Silver Leaf Gifts and More.  I said, yes, of course:)  And then I realized I needed to get some cards made in a hurry.  Carmen gave me a huge hand at making these cards.  Aren't they cute?

Thanks for looking and have a great day:)
